In 1990, the US had a travel and immigration ban for people living with HIV. A week before the pride parade, hundreds of protestors stormed the Sixth International Conference on AIDS. It was the first direct action protest and it forever changed the relationship between patients and the medical establishment. Activists Terry Beswick, Laura Thomas and Vince Crisostomo remember.
